Minister for Family Affairs and Integration Corinne Cahen delivered an emotional farewell address to MPs shortly before 8pm on Tuesday.

The Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, came third on the Democratic Party (DP) list on Sunday and will now take on new responsibilities at municipal level.

She must therefore step down form her government role and is on the verge of submitting her official resignation.

On Tuesday evening, Cahen addressed MPs for the last time as Minister for Family Affairs:

"I wanted to thank you all very much, because today I give my last speech as Minister for Family Affairs. It wasn't always nice here, but sometimes it was. It wasn't always fun here, but sometimes it was. Anyway, thank you very much for making this session so long today so that I could really enjoy every second of it. It's been a great pleasure and a great honour for me to be able to be here, thank you very much."

While the successor to Corinne Cahen has not yet been announced, the DP has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday evening.
